I usually don’t find myself enjoying rap as my compositions are more melody focused, but I was able to put my own spin on an Aussie Hip-Hop track commenting on a perspective of a society.
Inspiration drawn from Hilltop Hoods and Seth Sentry.
lyrics
VERSE 1
boxes lockin x's crossin
watch out wasted potential
sittin in a 9 till 5
s'gotta be a different jive, give-
me the knife, thats the key
spillin juice in frona me
what's your drink of choice?
but can we still hear your voice
sittin back, push me forward
take me down to funky town, rip-
start me up, buttercup
never frown, dont let me down
so tell me where the children play
keep themoon shadow thisway
freedom what you want to do
but not others, harm of you
the rain comes down, never drown
's just water, sh' be your order
hail storm, keep us warm, why
can't this stuff, be the norm?
ambition is my trait o' choice
heaven squeals all rejoice
fall asleep, the sound of rain
waking up, screams of pain
sick of your old ways in new days
convince yourself
don't know how to feel
bullshittin your actual deal
construct my criticism
immune to your cynicism
rebel overswing
keep tryna make this a thing
CHORUS
the ones above us wrong,
even below the same song
hypocrisy's my flavour
howdy neighbour, times be changin
forward movement, robots science
take control of it later
you're scared of change, find it strange
misarrange, throw exchange
fight the lazy dictator
there's evil on your face
disregard the human race
everything out there is greater
VERSE 2
d'wha's my ethic?
one commandments
dont be a dumb shit
think your privilege
overwrite you
cause you're full of it
consumed by your shard of plastic
all automatic
anti social social culture
concede now your dis order
take your time listen fine
tune reception tweak perception
form your own opinion
just dontbe another minion
fast forward now, disallow
evening blau, curacao
coffee's cold shoulda told
ya kookaburra aint fold
they recognise these lies
the do or dies of demise
intercepting the mind
whatever they find meetin
greetin people
praise to the steeple
wor ship all one evil
no reward you think abroad
not even retrieval
mate think you're fly
sugar high
no belief the end is nigh
wasting all of your days
your head locked in a maze
and dont you question this mindset
aint but a level you might yet
flowin the trend, do you ascend?
or keep that key thrown away
